What will Tuesday be like for our Hotchkiss students?
After being at sea for 3 days, students will wake up at 6:30 and head on Zodiaks ("rubber speed boats" as described by Dakota) to explore South Georgia. They anticipate meeting lots of penguins, Albatross, and other native birds.
At the end of the day, students will meet up for a debriefing lecture and will have time to journal their ideas.
Dakota, Tavo, and Anna report that the trip is amazing! The food is "7 star quality" according to Dakota, and "the staff is just incredible." During free time, students are getting "to know students that [we] wouldn't normally hang out with at school." Students are "learning so much about the environment and about the history of exploration" and are "learning about animals [we've] never even heard of before."
Dakota snapped this picture of an Albatross. They have 11.5 feet wing spans. Can you imagine wearing one around your neck???
Well, it sounds as though your adventure is going well... There is just so much going on, I'm sure it must be hard to keep up, we're having a hard time time ourselves. Well, we truly enjoy reading all the blogs, so keep them coming!
